Our first morning in Ljubljana, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and met Natasha, the owner of www.April1550.com , and Elenka, the chef. The food was local and fresh, and Elenka is a passionate chef. Natasha and her husband bought the 500 year old building 8 years ago and have completely remodelled it.
Today was a museum day, which was perfect timing because it was International Museum Day, so all the museums were free! We visited the Cukrarna Modern Art Museum, the National Museum of Slovenia, and the MOMA. Saturday is market day, so we first wandered through the city center market.
We spent the warm day strolling the city along the river and streets, enjoyed a light charcuterie lunch on the river, and made our way back for a rest before dinner. Dinner was delicious—just around the corner—Spajza was the restaurant.
